Re: Disney Villas

Do you mean like the dvc villas? Yes, all the time. There are several recent posts on this board about people renting points. My parents have dvc so I don’t know about this, but it saves you $ vs going through Disney directly.

There are about 10 properties give or take at wdw, not sure which ones you had in mind.

Studios are like regular hotel rooms with a very small kitchionette area (mini fridge, microwave, small sink, etc.). One bedrooms and beyond have increasing larger dedicated kitchen areas with full sized appliances, along with washers and dryers. It’s nice to have a quick breakfast with the kids in the morning.

The villas don’t have daily room service. There’s designated days during the week for garbage collection and linen service.

Re: Disney Villas

Your first steps would be to narrow down the area you want to be in and the budget. There’s villas next to grand Floridian, Polynesian, and contemporary all by MK that are all a little more in points and thus will be more $ (contemporary a little less so); wilderness lodge is also in that area and slightly less. There’s two on the immediate boardwalk area, a few between Epcot and Disney Springs that are much less points, and then at Animal kingdom Lodge, which can be less or more points depending on if you get a Savannah view or not.

Re: Disney Villas

There are lots of posts on these boards about DVC. You can rent points from an owner (which is the cheaper option) or reserve them through Disney directly (you will pay a lot more for this option).

If you rent through an owner, you will not get daily maid service (there's a rotating schedule when they give you fresh towels and do a full clean of the room). Garbage pickup used to be every few days as well, but they have recently changed that so that there is garbage pickup every day (part of the post-Las Vegas security checks).

Do a search of where you would like to stay and then look at the different room types. Some studios (which really don't have a kitchen - just a small kitchenette) sleep 5, others only 4. Also, look at the configuration of the bedrooms and sleeping surfaces for the one, two and three bedroom units.

There are pros and cons to renting DVC points - do your research carefully.

We haven't gone yet, but we will be staying at the cabins at Copper Creek. Ours is a 2 bedroom which sleeps 8 and has a jacuzzi and enclosed porch. We'll be able to see MK's fireworks and take the boat to MK.

ETA: There is a full kitchen in these cabins. This is the floor plan.
