Best cleaning products after illness?
Some crazy, violent stomach bug went through my house last weekend. Now, 3 people who have been in my house this week are sick. What's the best products to use to destroy bacteria, viruses, etc.? The all natural things clearly aren't cutting it.
ETA: Has anyone else been experiencing this stomach virus? It's wretched!

Best cleaning products after illness?
Bleach, bleach, bleach, and more bleach. One of my friends is very much into the natural essential oils to clean, which is fine and I don’t knock her, but from a medical standpoint, bleach and germicidal wipes are what we use in the hospital to kill germs, natural products will not kill bacteria

Re: Best cleaning products after illness?
So straight up bleach, in a bucket? And that's safe to wipe on counters, tiles, etc? Can you use that in the kitchen? Are Clorox wipes the same thing or no?

Dilute it with water. Google the exact ratios. They also sell on Amazon some hydrogen peroxide wipes that are hospital grade. That would be good in the kitchen

It should have directions right on the bottle. I think it's just a few tablespoons to a gallon of water. I keep that in a spray bottle for bathrooms or germy messes.

do they sell any of these types of wipes in the store? I'm having a house full of people tomorrow and I want to sterilize the place tonight.

Re: Best cleaning products after illness?
Lysol spray. Everywhere.
Pay close attention to anything touched: remotes, door knobs, light switches, stair railings, etc.
Bleach for bathroom/counters/kitchen.
Throw out kitchen sponge and wash any towels, tablecloths, bath mats, etc

Good old clorox bleach. Honestly, nothing better.
You can use clorox wipes as well on counter top surfaces, doorknobs and light switches. Open all the windows and air out!!
Get some Lysol spray for when you're done with all the bleaching for a light coating on EVERYTHING (sofas, etc). I like the one with the purple top. It has a nice scent

I use Clorox Professional Grade Hydrogen Peroxide. I spray it everywhere. I mop the floors with a mix of bleach and water, and also pour bleach in the toilet. Change your toothbrushes also, don't use the same toothpaste if you can. Also, wipe down light switches, remotes and door handles.

Re: Best cleaning products after illness?
Be careful if you have natural stone floors or counters. I'm not sure if you can use these harsher cleaners on them.
Also, wash what ever you can (blankets, robes, stuffed animals) and if you can't wash it, (like a couch) you can spray it with the Lysol for soft surfaces. https://www.target.com/p/lysol-max-cover-disinfectant-mist-garden-after-rain-15oz/-/A-52239347

Careful with bleach. It can be very toxic. You shouldn't have a strong scent from it.
