Best cleaning product for wood floors
We’re finally closing on our home tomorrow!! we’re getting in right away and the first thing that I plan on doing is scrubbing the place down. Which is the best product to use on wood floors? I was at BJs last night and saw Bona.... is that good? TIA!

Best cleaning product for wood floors
I like the method squirt and mop cleaner. I used to use vinegar but I read that's bad for the finish so I switched.

The guys that steam cleans our floors said NO to vinegar on hardwood floors, even some tile floors. It will eat away at the finish. I use the Bona on my floors.

Re: Best cleaning product for wood floors
I feel like I’ve tried everything. The winner seems to be the shark steam mop. Just hot water and my floors have never been so clean. Sometimes I spray a little Thieves cleaner (from young living) on the floor as I’m steaming along to sanitize but I feel like the steam really does a great job. And it’s sooooo easy.

Yes you have to be very careful with vinegar- even on granite and quartz counters- it is very very acidic and can eat away at finishes and sealants. I was told the same.

Best cleaning product for wood floors
When I had my wood floors re-done, the floor guy said Bona was the ONLY product that should ever be used

funny. We just had quartz Installed and when I asked what the best cleaner for it would be he said white vinegar & water. I use the windex vinegar because 1. It smells better and 2. It doesn’t leave streaks.
For my wood floors, I switch it up. Sometimes it’s vinegar, water and a little blue dawn in a spray bottle and I swifter as I spray. Whenever there’s a virus going around , I use lysol multi surface diluted in a bucket with my mop and I use the steam mop probably monthly. It’s been 7 years. No issues with the floors.

I’m thinking of getting a steam mop to clean the floors more easily. Now I spray Bona but it takes a long time to get to every section.

Re: Best cleaning product for wood floors
The last time I used Murphy's Oil; I had people slipping and sliding over the place. So, never again.
I do have the Bona mop.
But lately, I use regular mop and bucket with hot water and I add a drop or two of the Lysol or Pine Sol liquid with a dash of vinegar. It is very diluted and I feel it cleans them so well.

Re: Best cleaning product for wood floors
i have heard really good things about the bissell crosswave, i have the shark and it's ok the bissell vacuums and cleans all with one machine
i think they have a solution you use in the machine or you can use plain water which is what i use with the shark
