Disney Character Meals
Hi! I am a Disney novice and will be traveling to Disney in November with my 5 year old and 17 month old. What character meals should we pick?
Beauty and the Beast in my favorite, so I definitely want to do Be Our Guest, but what are some other great ones?

Ok here we go.
Magic kingdom: Be our guest: Breakfast and lunch are both quick service. There aren’t any characters. Dinner you can meet the beast, but that’s it. Cinderellas royal table: Cool to just be in the castle, you’ll meet about 5 of the princesses. Cinderella is the main one downstairs with the big photo op, upstairs it’s usually aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, Ariel Crystal palace: Breakfast is the best meal here in my opinion. Such a pretty building too. Here you’ll meet Pooh, tigger, piglet, eyore
Epcot: Akershus: Princess meal. Belle is the main meet and greet here with the big photo op. Inside it’s aurora, Ariel. Snow White, etc This one is in Norway by frozen ever after in world showcase Garden grill: This one is in future world in the land. It rotates. It’s chip and dale, Mickey.
Animal kingdom: Tusker house: Mickey, Donald, goofy, etc
Hollywood studios: Hollywood and vine: Breakfast is fancy Nancy, goofy roadster racer, vampirina. Lunch is Minnie.
Resorts Chef Mickey’s at the contemporary (b/l/d with Mickey and the fab 5) Ohana at the poly (characters inky at breakfast, lilo, stitch and Mickey) Cape May at beach club (Minnie, Mickey, etc) Storybook dining at artist point (only dinner, snow while, grumpy, dopey and evil queen) Bon voyage breakfast at trattoria al forno (only breakfast, Ariel, Prince Eric, Flynn rider, rapunzel) 1900 Park Fare at grand Floridian (breakfast is Alice, Mary poplins, Mad hatter, Pooh. Dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming, lady tremaine, step sisters)

Re: Disney Character Meals
Do you care more about the characters or the food?
Obviously ANewDayHasCome has pretty much told you everything you need to know. Here is my take on some of them.
Magic Kingdom:
-I LOVED LOVED Cinderella's Royal Table. It was worth the money to me.
-I was disappointed by the food at Be Our Guest, but it's beautiful to walk around in and see all of the details. Amazing place.
-If you like breakfast foods, or winnie-the-pooh you'll like Crystal Palace. We loved it. Just beware it's very slow there. At least when we went. It took the longest time.
Epcot:
-Akershus was pretty much my favorite meal, the ENTIRE trip. Food was great and the princess parade was so cute!
Animal kingdom:
-Tusker house was yummy and you get the traditional characters like Mickey and Donald.
Other Places:
-Chef Mickey’s! Classic. Not the best food, but you'll find something.
-Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno: I loved seeing my daughter with Prince Eric and Flynn/Eugene. Plus we always see women dressed up and marching around, it was nice to see some men in the action!
So jealous -- have fun!!!

Re: Disney Character Meals
O'hana breakfast is good.
Honestly, I don't think any of them are GREAT, and they are very expensive for what they are. Not to mention they take forever. I just paid $100 for my 12 year old and I to eat Breakfast at our hotel character bfast (Cape May, stayed at the Yacht Club). Complete waste of money, but they sang Happy Birthday, and it was a "splurge trip", so I sucked it up.

Re: Disney Character Meals
Agree it is very expensive and you aren't paying for the food.
At those ages I would probably pick based on characters that are most appealing.
We actually enjoy Ohana and I recently went with my older kids 8 & 10.

Re: Disney Character Meals
We did Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine for dinner on our last trip and the food wasn't great but we were there mainly for the characters.
My cousin did the Ohana breakfast and said it was good.

Re: Disney Character Meals
The last time we went we did:
Spirit of Aloha (no real characters. Kind of boring until the end. Then it gets cool)
Hollywood and Vine breakfast all Disney Jr. The breakfast buffet was fine and it was cute.
Ohana for breakfast. IMO this is the most over hyped meal ever. It was cute and it was Mickey, Donald, Lilo and Stitch. But all I heard about was how great it was and all you got were scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, Mickey waffles and the big hot was some kind of Hawaiian bread. It was expensive for that.
Chef Mickey for dinner. Loved it. Food was good and all the main characters were there.
This time we have resis at a bunch of other ones. Looking forward to trying it out.

Disney Character Meals
Last year we did Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill. We liked Garden Grill because the characters come to you and it's not a buffet. The meal is served family style. This way we were able to eat with out worrying about one person staying with my DS. It was also sorta quiet and low key for a character meal. It is Farmer Mickey, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. Maybe Goofy too. We went for breakfast. This year we are going to try dinner there. I liked chef mickeys, just don't feel like doing it again.

We just did Garden Grill. We loved it! The food was delicious and plentiful. I still daydream about the skillet cinnamon roll. Character interaction is great because of the set up of the restaurant. The tables are set up in two concentric circles and the characters just walk around them so the encounter feels private. We did RD and had a 10:10 ADR, which I recommend because it's a lot of food and $$$ so we let it substitute for lunch and we only needed a light snack before dinner.
