Is it OK to bring kids to LI church wedding?
I’m not originally from LI—and not that close to bride/groom. Is it generally OK to bring very well behaved kids to a church ceremony even if they’re not invited to the reception? Doing this will save so many hours of babysitting and my girls would love to see the bridal party etc. before being with a sitter while we go to reception. Skipping the ceremony altogether is an option but I always feel so rude doing that.

Yes! I’ve definitely brought my children to weddings where they weren’t invited to the reception. As long as they’re well-behaved I don’t think it would be a problem at all.

Yes. Definitely. We've done that a few times. I think the bride and groom or other family members would be happy to see your kids.

I'd definitely think that was fine. I'd just give a heads up to the bride/groom or whoever in the family you're close with so they don't think/worry that you're bringing the kids to the reception.
We had an out of town guest show up with their kids when we'd arranged a babysitter for them, and it definitely caused a little panic attack - not because I really cared about them being there, but because of all the kids (under 21) that weren't invited and now their parents were seeing these little kids there.
