Gift for friend having surgery

My son's 2 best friends are having their tounsils removed in a few weeks. Funny that it's both his 2 best friends from the same doctor and same day. What are the odds?
Anyway, his other best friend's mom and I were talking about chipping in and getting the other 2 something or send something when they are home.
It's him and 3 other boys and the 4 have been best friends since kindergarten and very close.

What's something cute to send to the boys? It's not going to be at the hospital. Sounds like an outpatient surgery where they'll be home same day to recover.

They are 10 years old. Any thoughts on what to send? We figured food isn't a good idea and want to spend about $50 each for both so splitting that. Thanks!

I would just do some puzzles or games. They don’t really want you having ice cream after tonsil surgery.
