Recs for a family vacation
Hi all -
Can anyone recommend a quick getaway within driving distance with a couple with a 5 year old boy? Maybe even rent a house for a few days with a pool. This would be in August.
TIA!

Re: Recs for a family vacation
I love Wildwood (But we stay in Diamond Beach) or Cape May NJ So much to do- beach, hotel pool, the boardwalk with all the rides and attractions in Wildwood, the Cape May Zoo is amazing and free and has a playground and some small rides in addition to the zoo. We always stay at Icona resorts in both locations. they are amazing

Re: Recs for a family vacation
We loved the White Mountains in New Hampshire. They also have Santa's Village amusement park there, which is beyond adorable! Also Story Book Land is nearby. There is Clark's Trading Post, the scenic Kancamagus Highway with great waterfalls, train rides etc. We had a great time there!
I also agree that Wildwood is fun!

Recs for a family vacation
My heart belongs to Long Beach Island on the Jersey Shore. It’s extremely family friendly, and a lot to do. There is a little amusement park called fantasy Island, waterpark, lighthouse, tons of mini golf, amazing restaurants and not as far as some of the other shore locations.

I rent a house for a week when I go with my husband and kids. Then I usually go back later in the summer with my mom and the kids and we stay at a hotel. There are tons of house rentals, and many hotels. I just feel you get more for your money with the house rental because the hotels can run you 250 and up each night.
