How far in advance do you send them out to friends and classmates?

For my DD they are usually sent in her folder that comes home with her from school , typically about a month before, but I just received one that is 6 weeks out.

I did them 3 weeks out. I feel like people forget if they go out to early

Usually a month.

ETA: DH's birthday is in the summer so I have to send them in before the last day of school, which is why it winds up being a month in advance.

Three weeks to a month is best, but I have given them out with only 2 weeks notice and the turnout was still very good. Sometimes I think less notice might make it fresher in the parents' minds. I often wait to RSVP until the last minute to the ones given out very early.

I always did 4-5 weeks but I agree with sometimes less notice is better as far as getting rsvp's back in a timely manner.
