Since there is no school...

What is everyone doing about services your child was receiving in school? We are in NYC and out for a month, i know that this is necessary- but I worry about my DD not getting the daily help she was getting (especially since lately, she had been doing so well and progressing so much). I am scouring the internet for resources that I can use at home...but just wondering if we can share/help each other. Every September, she has a slight regression when she starts school again.

I'm very worried about being out for an extended period of time. DS gets most of his therapies in school and I doubt those hours are going to be made up once school resumes. He has a home therapist that comes 4.5 hours a week after school normally, and I was told as long as the district is closed, she's not allowed to come either.

I’m a nyc speech therapist and we’re doing all our services through teletherapy.

I hope by now your providers have contacted you?

My son is doing ok. Not only is he not getting services, but we also have self-direction, and all his classes he takes were cancelled. I had to stop my staff from working as well. I know she wasnt happy, but I am not taking a chance.
My son's speech and OT did put some assignments and suggestions for activities to do at home through Google classroom.

Her SETTS teacher set up a google classroom for them and is showing the work via video and then asking them to follow along and complete some writing work. She also called me and will do a Zoom conference every week to speak to DD & me about questions and help she can provide.

Just heard from a few of his therapists this week. They are offering to call me once a week for 30 minutes for tips.

His home BIS therapist is attempting her sessions via google hangout but we will see how that goes. I am expected to sit with him for 90 minutes which will be difficult because I am also expected to work from home throughout all of this.
