Re: What ate the current restrictions?
Here’s an article, albeit from the NY Post, but it’s from my 30 second google search.
https://nypost.com/2020/03/20/coronavirus-in-ny-cuomo-orders-lockdown-shuts-down-non-essential-businesses/
It sounds like it will be like it is here. Supermarkets are still open for now. I think the only difference is that you will be fined here (25,000) if you leave for non-essential travel.
I think the best thing you can do is look to how other countries have handled their lockdown. AFAIK, Italy and China left their supermarkets open.
I just want to get the lockdown over with. My cats are driving me crazy.

Some of this is ridiculous. Doormen? Dry Cleaners?
And these businesses don't have to adhere to the reduced workforce requirements. There should be 2 lists; one group that can operate at full capacity (medical) and a group of businesses that should be forced to reduce staff.

Doormen keep the buildings secure, no? They make sure people are allowed in.

And I'm sure they are glad to still have a job.

Anything not on the list I guess. Retail stores that aren't listed, etc.. As far as child care I assume they can close if they want to but if they choose to stay open they can since they are listed as essential

Also any business that is owned by a single person and only that person works there is allowed to stay open. That's on the States website.

But is nobody else allowed to enter the establishment as a customer? Some of these guidelines are very vague.
People will try to stay open to keep their business and family afloat...but then risk a hefty fine they can’t afford. This whole situation just sucks.

If you live in NY I would suggest at 11am everyday you watch Cuomo on TV or put a news station on your phone for updates :)
