Healthcare costs
Does anyone else think costs of health insurance are going to increase dramatically after this whole pandemic is over?

Unfortunately yes, along with airfare costs and cruise pricing and any other services that were affected by this.

Perhaps but in the beginning I can see airlines and especially cruises offering low low rates to entice people back.

Maybe. I could see them doing that. Long term though, we'll be paying $45,000 for every checked bag.

Re: Healthcare costs
I think many companies are going to go under. Those that survive will increase prices to handle the fact that they had no revenue for months. The cruise industry is going to change. It will have to in order to entice people back on their ships.

I just saw on the news that some large chain restaurants are already asking for rent relief because they cant pay the rent.

That's what I thought since there is usually always a ridiculous wait

See I’m not surprised, there is no reserve for something like this when every restaurant in the country is ordered to shut down. I cringe at the thought of how much profits are down, they are probably in the red.

I’m not surprised about this either. As a small business owner, I know how expensive it is to run one on Long Island. We all know LI is expensive for everything, running a business is no different. We are contacting our accountant Monday to see what this new bill does for us. If we can pay our business expenses (payroll, healthcare, lease payment, etc) until we can reopen - that would be fantastic. If that’s not the case, we’re going to speak to the landlord instead on Monday to see if there is any relief there as well. We already deferred big payments for ourselves personally, so if landlord doesn’t give us any slack, we can pay the lease for at least 2 mo without shear panic. After that? Screwed. Why? Because having a business on LI means huge rents, huge bills, large payroll and state and sales taxes are through the roof. Close to impossible to have 3-6 months of anything saved for emergency unless you’re taking it out of your own personal pocket

Re: Healthcare costs
I hope not. The stimulus bill that just passed I thought was to help all these companies so they are not raising prices.

Pretty sure this is just to stop another Great Depression. I fully expect prices to go up across the board.
Hopefully, the stimulus works, and we don’t enter another depression

Re: Healthcare costs
Follow Wendell Potter on Twitter. He is a former healthcare exec who helped draft most of the current healthcare policies that exist today. He is now exposing the healthcare industry and explaining why healthcare and politics is so corrupt.
He predicts healthcare costs are absolutely going to go up in 2021.
