What if. We can drive ourselves crazy with what ifs. I look it as this is one of those things you cannot control in life.

Exactly. What if a meteor hits earth tomorrow?
What if you get in a car accident?
What if you get cancer?
What if you drop dead from a brain aneurysm that's been in your head since birth, silently waiting to kill you?
What if a murderer crosses your path?
What if you are walking down the street on a windy day and a piece of plywood flies off a store front and hits you in the head? (Happened to a woman in nyc a few years ago)
Terrorist attack?
Plane crash?
Heart attack?

Worrying doesn't stop you from dying. But it certainly stops you from living.

That wasn't my point even a little but thanks

Because you consistently post the most ignorant nonsense, why are you on this thread? You posts just show that you talk nonsense for the sake of it. We get it. You think everyone else is stupid for worrying. The point is that comparing COVID to car crashes is legitimately moronic, ignorant and stupid Chat Icon

OK, creeper.
We get it, you hate me.
Move on.
And I wasn't comparing COVID to a car crash you fuking moron.
I was comparing worrying about us NEVER finding a vaccine and society ending due to COVID to worrying about other things we can't control- like car crashes, accidents, brain aneurysms.
Other people seemed to understand what I was saying.
Do you get it now????
Or does that not fit your agenda of hate against me??

I don't think ANYONE has ever said on here that they want the economy to open tomorrow. Even Cuomo is acknowledging that slowly reopening has to start happening soon. All anyone has ever said is that staying in this state until we get a vaccine, which could be TWO YEARS away, is not ever going to work.
It seems like unless you are in your house under a blanket, people jump down your throat. My family has been home since March 16th. We get our groceries delivered. We take walks and bike rides as a family, but have not physically spent time with anyone not living in our house.
I suffer from anxiety & depression, my son, who turns 9 in May, is starting to show signs of depression.
All anyone is saying is that it is not an all or nothing situation. Doctors are saying 1 in 4 cancer patients are not getting their chemo. People are not getting organ transplants. I can't get even get my yearly physical.
Of course this virus is not the same as dying in a car accident, or being at work when a terrorist slams a plane into your office. But, if we all worried about every single thing that may or may not happen, we would never leave our houses. People returned to work in the city after 9/11, people bought homes on the water after Hurricane Sandy, people who lose loved ones in car accidents still drive a car. Eventually, society will reopen and people will send their kids back to school, go back to work, go on vacation, and enjoy a Saturday night out at a restaurant with friends.
I do not stress about a vaccine. I do not believe that the death rates are accurate- in any country. Nobody said 40,000 lives don't matter. The fact is, worrying about whether there will be a vaccine is exactly the same as worrying about whether we will get in a car accident. There is nothing we can do- and worrying will never change the outcome.

This is a doom and gloom thread. No time for positivity.

They cancelled Oktoberfest this year. For the first time since ww2 it has been cancelled. That's got to say something.

OP, I have the same exact worries as you. Same. Coronaviruses are difficult to make a vaccine for.

Honestly, all the days are blending together that I didn’t even notice the date. It’s been a while anyway... Chat Icon
