The new "normal"
I know there are a lot of posts on here about when things will re-open, how are we going to have camps and colleges re-open, businesses, restaurants, etc. I think what has gotten lost is that, at least the way I see it, until there is a vaccine (and wide spread administration of that), things will be different. Just like we adjusted to a whole new way of airport procedures after 9/11 (things we never thought we would be willing to do), we will probably have new ways of approaching a lot of our pre-pandemic normal activities.
When we go out to eat - servers will probably be wearing masks and menus will be disposable. No more crowds standing at a bar waiting for a table.
When we show up for work every day - no more crowded conference rooms, maybe staggered schedules and alternate days to work from home.
"Crowd"control when entering a store, park, beach etc- really limiting the numbers
So many things will become our "new normal" - things we aren't even imagining right now
I think it will be a long time before we go back to life the way it was in Jan/Feb 2020. That doesn't mean we have to continue to live like we have been for the past month or so either. But, I do think we will have a new way of life that none of us ever thought we would be "ok" with just a couple of months ago.

I think we are all aware of this. I think some of it we should have probably been doing already, like the plastic guards they have up at Walgreens now when you check out. Good idea.

I doubt it. I have a bunch of people in my FB feed that think this is all a government conspiracy for control. They drink the Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz Kool-aid that C-19 isn't as deadly as the media is making it out to be.
So, I assume, similar to other reasons for vaccines (polio, measles, etc), that people will think they'll be ok b/c others have the vaccine.

yes i doubt it too!
I am friends with someone against vaccines and she has not changed her mind.
She doesn't think its fake however she just thinks we need to let natural herd immunity happen which I agree with to a point.
Honestly I rather them find way to treat covid-19 before they try to push any vaccines.
Because in the grand scheme of things its not deadly to most of the population, yes lots of people are dying and they do matter but i would hate to think we have to wear masks all the time and continue to have to all these pre cautions for years to come!

I agree with this. Good friends of the family believe that Covid is real and people die, but that it was created by our government with the purpose of microchipping us to make us zombies...like for real, not kidding! Now me on the other hand is has never gotten the flu vaccine is rethinking my stance on that and I can tell you I will get it next fall and this vaccine if they are ever able to make one!

The thing that's starting to worry me more is all the other stuff they're finding out about recently - young people having strokes, blood clots, etc. It's one thing to get it and die within 2 weeks, but who knows the long term effects of someone that has mild symptoms?

Couldn't agree more. There is too much we still don't know. And too much we do know about potential long term effects that hateful, comment section trolls are too happy to ignore as they demand what they want.
