too soon for bday get together?
DS is having his 10 year old birthday next week. Is it too soon to invite 2-3 friends over? Not sure what to do for him.... We could do a zoom party? Or should I organize a (ugh, hate to do it) parade. Yes, I was the one who complained about those weeks ago

If you’re comfortable and you know people who would have their kids over, I would do the 3 kids over.
If not ask your son which he would prefer virtually, zoom or parade? I would let him decide that :)

I have let my DD go over friends houses (In their house not just outside) and I have had one over mine so I would be ok with it.
I’m with you I hate the parades and don’t do them my kids birthday are not till later In The year but if I can’t do anything for them I may feel guilty enough to try to do one but the guilt would have to be really bad

Same.
I’d have no problem inviting ppl over. The question is if they’d feel comfortable coming over.

I don't think so. We have been having small outdoor gatherings since memorial day with people we know. My son's birthday is coming up too. I'm definitely having a few people over (much less than usual) but I don't know whether I will do it on his bday or on the weekend.
I am going to put on the text that people should do what they are comfortable with and if they don't want to come, that's fine. My aunt was telling me that she just went to a gathering where the host made separate appy plates, separate salad plates and separate meal plates for every guest. There is no way on God's green earth I am doing something like that so if they are uncomfortable with grabbling a slice from the community pizza, they can BYOF.

I'm going to ask my DDs 2 best friends to come to the pool for her bday for swimming, pizza and cake at the end of this month.
And we'll do family that weekend like we always do.
We've seen these 2 friends for the past 3 weeks anyway and same with my family

My DD's 4th birthday is the 15th. We are having the neighbors over with their kids for a BBQ. We will have family over the weekend before her birthday.

I don’t think it’s too soon. Most people in my neighborhood have eased up. It’s not the same as it used to be but kids are still playing together.

Lol! Absolutely! Those are 3 of my favorite things too actually.
It sounds like heaven! I asked my son if anyone is having friend over, trying to gage the situation for this summer. No luck.
