I am looking to go to Cape May for an upcoming weekend. Any tips on what to do there (no kids) and a reasonable hotel ?
Thank you!!

Re: Cape May
Just got back. It's so relaxing. We did the beach and pool mostly. Shopping and walking around Washington Street Mall (outdoor shopping area). There is a winery and brewery nearby...we didn't go because we had our DD with us. Cape May Zoo Trolley tours and horse drawn carriage tours of the historic homes. It's nice to just walk around and look at the architecture too, the old homes are so beautiful.
As far as hotels, we only stay at ICONA cape may which wasn't really reasonable but it was insanely clean and just so beautiful. They also offer a free shuttle anywhere you want to go in Cape May and back all day long which is so convienient. That includes free use of their Diamond Beach location which has a private beach and larger pool and a fun outdoor beach bar and beach and pool food and drink service which is fun for a day. But check trip advisor for a more reasonably priced option...there are tons of hotels and bed and breakfasts down there

It seems hotels and restaurants are booked with reservations. Did you book in advance or wing it with the restaurants once you got down there ? Thanks!

I did book in advance for dining because I knew they had limited capacity with outdoor seating only in NJ still I booked about 3 weeks to a month in advance to be honest for dining. The hotel we had booked in the Fall- we go every year and we get the previous year's rates locked in if we book then. According to the hotel shuttle driver it's was pretty hard to get in for dinner anywhere without a reservation due to the limited seating capacity.

Thank you for the information. We may have to hold off on going there until next year and go somewhere different this year. Thank you.
