What to give to mom for her 70th birthday?
My mom is turning 70 this weekend and we are completely at a loss regarding a gift, even though we have been thinking about this for some time now. All the possibilities that we know she would enjoy - spa and /or restaurants GCs, travel GC's, concert or theater tickets are obviously out at this point...
What do you guys do these days when possibilities are so very limited?

Can you make her a memory photo book?
Maybe get pictures from her life and do decade by decade. You can also photograph any special items she still has, like maybe her baby blanket, or special pieces of jewelry, etc.
Then finish off with some kid and grandkid pictures to show her how much she's loved? Have each of the grandkids write her a letter and draw a picture and then add them to the photo book and give her the originals?

Jewelry? We gave my mil a ruby and diamond band when it was both her 70th birthday and 45th wedding anniversary.
For my parents we gave them a weekend at gourneys inn with a couples massage and a spa experience.

I was just sitting here googling ideas for my MIL's 70th birthday. Etsy had some 7 rings for 7 decades necklaces. I like the idea and think I am going to try to see if I can have a nearby jeweler make something like that. My MIL is the hardest person to shop for.
For her 60th we did an opal (her birthstone) ring with diamonds.

We just took my mom out to a nice fancy dinner pre covid. We also did decorations at her house to make it feel a little more special.
Could you have a family portrait taken?
Order in fancy food - seafood, appetizers/multi courses etc? You could have kids make menus or other decorations. Even have them be waiters depending on age.
Covid makes it hard. Sorry for not having better ideas.

I just got my Mom a subscription to Storyworth - https://www.storyworth.com/
It sends them prompts for stories/memories throughout the year and then you can create a book out of it. We're 3 weeks in, so far she has written about memories of her Mom as a child, memories of her grandparents. She can include photos too. I also set it up to send to my brother too and so that we can both get a book made at the end of the year.

Netflix or Hulu subscription
monthly subscription you think she would enjoy (wine, fruit, stitch fix, Sephora, etc)
roomba , massage chair, iPad/tablet, newest iPhone or Android (whichever she’s used to)
Instacart subscription so she can do a lot of online shopping locally

if you live near her, maybe a nice day out. start with brunch or afternoon tea. Seal watching tour? different then go for lunch or dinner
