Question about birthday invites for a combined birthday party
So this year I am having a combined birthday Halloween party for my soon to be 3 year old DD and soon to be 4 year old DS. I sent out an evite to family and friends with both their names on it because they all know both kids. Now I am also inviting both of their classes and I don't want to put both names on it because I do not want any parents to feel obligated to buy for a child that is not in their child's class. So do you think I should just put my DD's name on her class invites and my DS's name on his class invites? Would you care if you arrived at a party with your child and realized it was for two kids, not just one? What do you think? Thanks so much.

Re: Question about birthday invites for a combined birthday party
People will not feel obligated. They will only buy a gift for the child they are invite for (the one in their class). I just had a combined party for my 2 DSs and this is what both of their classmates did.

Oh okay, so do you think I should just put my DS's name on the invites for his class and my DD's name on the invites for her class? Thanks so much for your help.
Anyone else have opinions about it? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Question about birthday invites for a combined birthday party
I had a combined party for both this year.
I put both names on the invite for all of our friends, including daycare classmates.
Everyone seemed to get that they should just bring a gift for the child they personally know.
Also I sent out a joint thank you....to the effect of "thank you for celebrating our birthdays with us!"
Good luck....our both party went really well

Re: Question about birthday invites for a combined birthday party
I would do something like:
"Alexander would love it if you can join him and his sister at their birthday party on ..." and vice versa for Gianna to her friends.
Change the wording to whatever you like, but I would include the childs name but say something like that so that the parents know it is a combined party. I know it doesn't really matter and they would probably only get a gift for the child who's class their child is in, but at least they know what they are walking in to.
