Visiting a vineyard this weekend
My friend and I would like to visit a vineyard out east this weekend. Which do you like? Looking for music, maybe light lunch etc. something lively (outdoors)

Re: Visiting a vineyard this weekend
I like so many that I think its easier to say which ones I don't like. Pindar sucks. The customer service is HORRIBLE. Vineyard 48 (is that still open?) is like a cheesy dance club and the owner or manager of that place is a complete *********. I like Baiting Hollow but it got VERY crowded with the wine tours. In general I would say to avoid the ones that allow limos. Other than Ospreys because there is a ton of room to spread out there and it's fun vibe.
Just check to make sure you don't need reservations before you go.

I think Vineyard 48 was shut down a year or more ago. They were having issues with the neighbors reporting their horrible behavior- people having sex in the vineyards in plain site of homes etc. It was a dump. I don't think any vineyards allow buses or large limos/parties anymore yet due to Covid restrictions , so that's good at least. And yes, some if not most require reservations to keep crowds down so be sure to call before you go

I like the Jamesport Brewery and Pugliese Vineyards the best. LIV is also very cool to visit

I would call ahead if you go anywhere and see what the covid policy is. The east end is a nightmare this time of year with traffic. Would hate for you to drive all the way out and be in traffic just to be turned away because they are at capacity. Its pumpkin season so hours of traffic. But my favorite is Jamesport lol

If you like rosé Crouteax is great and they have a cute outdoor area. We also like Paumanok, Macari (although I think they are booked through Oct) , McCall, Sherwood House and Jamesport (though their wine this year is just ok).

Re: Visiting a vineyard this weekend
I went to a couple wineries last month
Defin call ahead as some are by reservation only because of covid.
We went to Mattebella. We never got a chance to get seated. It was a long wait and I asked to use the restroom and was directed to porta potty’s. That’s when I said no way and we left.
We went to ospreys dominion next door and then to Bedell. Both had normal nice bathrooms with running water to wash your hands.
