Holiday shopping

If you have small children who still believe in the magic of Christmas, or another holiday, might be smart to try and finish your shopping sooner rather than later. Stores are back to lines to get in on the weekends. Deliveries are slowing down.

Just a friendly heads up.

I have been telling everyone I see the same thing. Once Thanksgiving hits its going to be a nightmare.

Re: Holiday shopping

I never set foot in a store other than Target maybe from November through January anyway.

Not sure I needed another excuse. Lol.

The sales have started at a lot of places so I’ve been ordering. Make sure you guys use Rakuten or similar to get extra cash back!

Do a lot of online shopping for years now.

Older kids and one is D.O.N.E with the new PS5 and unfortunately my list has dwindled over the years with so many passing :(

I've started shopping but there are a few items I know will be substantially cheaper online on Black Friday so I'm waiting until then.

This is the first year my DD doesn't want any toys for Christmas and it's honestly making me sadder than I thought it would.... Chat Icon

Holiday shopping

I just finished all my shopping. All online. I got all my wrapping paper too. I do not have a good feeling about the next month so I figured I'd get it all done early.

It is a catch 22 as they get older. You don’t have to get up early but there is no magic anymore. They pick their gifts (even though I try and do stocking stuffers they can open when they finally wake up) so no surprises.

Victoria’s Secret had a line a few weeks ago as I guess they only let so many in at one time.

I think the magic is gone this year. Their lists are a bit ridiculous and I have no wow gift because I don’t want to get them what’s on top of their lists. They both are doubting Santa (I think the older one says he believes to get more stuff).

Holiday shopping

I've been ordering DD's gifts online since last month- almost done with her. I think it's harder because we're both home (WFM & remote learning) and she's seeing all these packages arrive and I'm running out of excuses for what they are "something daddy needs for work" "oh, just a thing for the car/house" LOL And then finding a time and place to hide them since she's always here!

It does hurt as it is fun to shop for them when they are smaller and you can get so much more.

It is sad when they don't believe and it basically turns into not surprising anymore. Teens are not happy being surprised and it turns out easier just getting them what they want and nothing much else as it then turns into a waste of money.

Holiday shopping

Finished my shopping in September!!! My twins are 3 almost 4 they are so excited and after the hellish year and a horrible holiday last year with my mother in law in hospice, I need this year to be magical for them. I really planned and budgeted shopping to avoid the rush and it makes me feel good I did. I noticed in general my regular deliveries are slowing. I ordered a few things from amazon recently and had 2/3 deliveries “lost.”

HomeGoods, Marshalls, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Bodyworks, Bed Bath & Beyond, at least the ones by me. That's why I do my best not to have to do any shopping on weekends unless it's unavoidable which is sometimes the case when you work outside the home.
