My sons school closed for Thursday as a snow day. Tomorrow half-day with no aftercare (he’s remote this week anyway) and Friday is full remote. He’s going to be so happy about Thursday!
I feel like every time we plan ahead for it, it turns out to be nothing but when we don’t it ends up being Armageddon.

My sons school closed for Thursday as a snow day. Tomorrow half-day with no aftercare (he’s remote this week anyway) and Friday is full remote. He’s going to be so happy about Thursday!
I feel like every time we plan ahead for it, it turns out to be nothing but when we don’t it ends up being Armageddon.
My daughter is annoyed because she has 2 half days this week for parent teacher conferences.
She had a half day today, a full day tomorrow and Thursday is a half day.
So of course, the snow day will be when she was supposed to have a half day and only be in school from 8 am to 11:15 am.
She feels gyped of a full snow day.

Nothing surprises me in NYC anymore.
They are their own planet.
Now kids can live in the NYC I lived in. We never had any damn snow days. I think I had 3 my whole 13 years going to school. '96 & I want to say one in the 80's. I was always the kid sitting in the auditorium watching a movie.

That was me, too! And forget even 3 -- I was already in college by '96, so I missed those (but I remember them because my mom was still teaching in Queens then, and I was SO JEALOUS retroactively lol.)

There was a person here who used to post the snow maps. I guess they arent around anymore. I am excited for some snow. My kids haven't used the snow pants we bought them 2 years ago. I am hoping enough to make a snowman, but not enough to be a huge nuisance...
She's not on LI anymore. She still posts weather maps on her FB page, but for where she is currently living.
