Re: Philly
It's been so long since I've been but I love all the historic stuff and we've done that a bunch of times.
We also loved the duck tour.
There are two cheesesteak places that have this "battle" for the best - Pat's and Geno's. I think we ate at Geno's and it was really good. Super busy and crowded.

Something that is a little off the beaten path and pretty cool to check out is the Magic Gardens. It's a "museum" of all mosaics - some inside, but mostly outdoors, a whole "garden" structure that you walk through, covered in mosaics. (It's hard to describe, but it's really interesting to see)

Jim’s South Street for cheese steaks
Eastern state penitentiary has cool history, oldest prison in America I think and it’s supposedly haunted. You can do tours.
The Mutter Museum
Great shopping on Broad Street
I would also check out Chestnut Hill. Not too far from Philly. Cute place, great little shops.
