Not sure if my dog has Addison's disease
So here’s the long story what’s going on. Last week my 5 yr old labradoodle was a bit constipated. She’s usually very scheduled with her making. Well, she wasn’t having a BM or eating. She was drinking and peeing. The vet said try pumpkin which we did and Thursday and she made so great! But then the rest of the weekend she was off, not eating, no BM and throwing up occasionally but nothing crazy. Was sort of herself, but she's dramatic so gets mopey the moment she doesn't feel herself. By Monday morning she could barely move. Took her to the vet and Vet said her kidney values were very high. X-ray and bloodwork came back normal. She is on a strict dry dog food diet bc she has a sensitive stomach and she’s always on the leash or supervised. I have no clue if she got something toxic but can’t imagine. They want her to come back each day to get fluids and today is day #3. Doesn't seem to be working and she’s still not eating. Very lethargic and depressed. Any help or advise appreciated. Thank you I just hate seeing her like this. Next step is sono. She's only 5 and she's not the spunky girl all over the place. SHe hardly moves.

Just curious what made you think Addison's disease, did the vet mention that? Could it be some sort of intestinal blockage because she ate something (kids toy or something)?

Everything from my research pointed to that. She was very lethargic, hasn't eaten, just pee'ing, it's in most labradors or poodles and she's a labradoodle, her kidney values were elevated, she was depressed and Xray came back no blockage, but everything was in her kidneys.
Plus, the Vet just called and he said (without me saying) he thinks it's Addison's disease and waiting on the bloodwork to come back.

How were her Cortisol levels? Did Vet check those because those are a big indicator of Addison's if they're off. Electrolytes are usually off too with Addison's but if the Vet said bloods are normal; then I am not so sure it would be that.
I thought my dog had it about 2 years ago. I dont believe he does now but I joined an "Addison's Disease in Dogs" Group on FB. They are so helpful and answer so many questions you may have.
I know many dogs who are diagnosed are treated with Prednisone.
Join the group; they really are helpful.
Good Luck. Keep us posted on her.

So we found out this AM she does have Addison's. She had her first injection she'll get monthly and on prednisone the rest of her life. She's still recovering from the crazy week and not really eating, but better than the other days so it's a start. Thanks!
