Definitely Fat Boy Burrito in Bellmore!
Mesquite Tex Mex in Wading River - probably the best tacos I've ever had.
The Greek place in Hauppauge, forgot the name! Tiny hole in the wall with the best grilled chicken and Greek salad outside of Queens.
Pio Pio Peruvian chicken with that amazing green aji sauce!
Parkway Rotiserre on Motor Parkway? OMG that dressing they give with the salad- it's just oil and vinegar but it's amazing whatever they use in it. And the grilled chicken on the salad is always hot and fresh and juicy. LOVE that place. I miss it since working from home.

That's the one! Thanks! I forgot what it was called. It's been a long time. YES, the dressing and their grilled chicken - and I'm not even one for grilled chicken because it's always dry and tasteless - but this place has me singing praises about grilled chicken and lettuce lol

Re: Favorite local food
All-American French Fries (I don’t care for the rest of the food there, though)
The Good Life in Massapequa- I love the Good Life Burger and their short ribs there.
The BLTs from the place next to Massapequa High School and their bagels
I’m kind of out of touch with my favorites, but those are usually on my list when I visit home.
My local stuff here is roasted chicken, pork knuckles, and Doner Kebabs.

Have you ever had the Knishes at All American? Same ones you can buy in the stores but they fry them. Sooo good.

Totally! We're so spoiled here. When I leave the tri-state area, I don't even bother trying to find pizza anywhere.

Re: Favorite local food
The veggie burrito from I am Nacho Mama in Hicksville (pay extra for the cauliflower!)
Anything from New Chili and Curry in Hicksville.
Pad See Yu from Chada Thai in Hicksville
Tortellini Carbonara from Calda Pizza is in our regular takeout cycle.
I love Blue Tortilla in Selden - used to get it frequently when I lived out there.
Afternoon tea service at Robinson's Tea Room for a special occasion
Ice cream at Krisch's
My aunt and uncle order pasta dishes from Carlo's pizza in Shirley when we visit and they are delicious.

Yes, they are OK. I don’t look forward to them or anything. The fries fill me up and I can’t eat more potato after that.

That and bagels. Can't get a decent bagel outside the NY Metro area either

Love their chicken salad! I do love doing the whole tea service thing there, but now I sometimes just get the chicken salad sandwich - it's so good!
