What kind of phone do you have?
I know this topic comes up every once in a while, but people change phones, so the results should be different each time.
What OS, and what model phone do you currently have?
Android, Samsung Galaxy S9.
I never get the newest phone. Usually one or two models below the newest.

I am a hardcore Android and Samsung girl. 
I have the Note 10+, I got it when it came out in fall 2019. I like to keep my phones for at least two years so I will be hanging on to mine for a while longer. Also, Samsung has yet to announce the next Note (if they will at all) and that makes me  so I am not letting this one go until I absolutely have to. LOL

Used to upgrade to the newest phone, but they're all the same thing. So, now I'll wait until the phone dies to get a new one.

iPhone 11. I’ll probably never switch from and iPhone but I usually dont get the newest models. I’ll go with whatever is on a deal and as long as it’s not too old

I have the iPhone 6  .
The battery health is 98% and it suits my needs. I had the battery replaced at the beginning of 2018 when the new OS caused battery usage and they must have put a super battery in.
I use my technology until the bitter end. I just ordered a new laptop after my one from 2013 sort of died (getting it fixed, though as a backup).
A new iPhone is next on the list but I think I will wait until I really need one.

I’ve only had one instance of not being able to use an app and it wasn’t that important to me to warrant getting a new phone.
When google maps and / or WhatsApp are not supported anymore, then I’ll force myself if my battery isn’t dead.

Samsung Galaxy S9+
I've thought about switching to an iPhone but I really love my droid.
I looked into getting the Samsung Galaxy Ultra S20+. The reviews are terrible and they removed the SD card port.

iPhone 8 but it's getting kinda wonky. The screen has a small crack and I find that it doesn't register my touch as well.
