Re: Amazon question
Yes, the sender can see. I wish they would change that.
I've sent gifts to my friends son and she told me he absolutely loved them, but then I saw it was returned. I didn't even have to select that specific order to see it was returned. It shows up on the main order status page. I don't know why she chose to lie to me. I don't mind at all if someone returns a gift to get something they'd rather have. It did hurt to know she lied though. I'm sure she just didn't want to hurt my feelings, so I never said anything to her. Anyway... rant over lol, but yeah they can totally see.

Wow that is awful that someone can see if an item is returned when it was a gift. I could see it happen if the sender did not mark this is a gift, but otherwise, yuck.

Yeah, I really wish they would change that. It was definitely marked as a gift. I sent a giftcard and a toy. I didn't send an actual card, so I used that little gift message area to write a note. I could see the toy was returned.
I'm not sure if target still does it, but last time I sent gifts from Target (it was right before Christmas a couple years ago), I could see those were returned too. It was a package of toys I donated to a family actually I thought that was kind of ballsy for them to return them.

In a case like this I would think maybe they might have needed something more important?

The family specifically asked for toys so the kids could have something to open on Christmas. Maybe they just didn't like the toys I picked. Who knows
