Pfizer’s Announcement

For ones that got Pfizer, does it worry you? Only 84% after 6 months.

My oldest actually got it and has felt sick and went and took a Covid test and they are fine. Now the worry of, is this vaccine making them sick with other things.

Re: Pfizer’s Announcement

When they work out all the kinks, and figure it all out, and get coverage for the variant(s)etc.... that's when I'll consider getting it.
I am sitting back waiting for the kinks to be worked out.
Just like it's not good to go to a new restaurant or hotel the first few weeks- they need to work out the kinks
That's how I feel about this vaccine.
By the time I'm ready, hopefully it will be more perfected.
Right now, it's quite experimental.
If I was elderly or had a condition that made covid more dangerous for me, I'd consider it sooner.
For now, in my PERSONAL situation, it's best to wait it out and let them work it all out.
I figure by the time I'm ready for it, it will be WAY more effective than the first few iterations.

I think this is a totally reasonable way of going about this.
I agree it is a personal decision and I wish people would be more understanding and forgiving with the subject. Everyone is so judge mental - it’s sad.

There are 2 sides now and it is really sad. Instead of listening to the concerns of others they immediately call someone who is not vaccinated selfish.

With all this information coming in with breakthrough cases and now the efficiency lower than originally thought, many are worried and they should have the right to be allowed to be.

As a person who has had Covid and is vaccinated, I’m not worried about breakthrough because I always knew it was something that could happen. I know a lot of people who thought they could never get Covid as long as they got the shot and I’ve tried to explain that’s not true - but it’s like talking to a wall sometimes.

There are 2 sides and it’s unfortunately political as well and it should not be. I’m more and more disappointed in the human race as each day passes.

I wouldn't be happy if the efficiency of something I have taken has gone down and the length of time less than anticipated also.

I guess we will see when the time has "expired" on this vaccines and then people are back down to 0 and they might not even know.

Pfizer’s Announcement

The primary purpose of a vaccine is to reduce hospitalizations and deaths. Even at 80 something percent efficacy, it will continue to do that.

The current problem has to do with other countries not having adequate vaccines to distribute. Our number one priority should be making sure poor nations get vaccines at this point in time.

Yup, this is how I feel.

I had Covid over the winter, it was friggin brutal, and I am in no rush to get the vaccine. Even my doctor respected my decision when I explained it. I’m going to let my immune system do what it’s supposed to do, and consider getting the vaccine when it’s been around a little longer.

Pfizer’s Announcement

Aren't we on like month 8? Why are we just being told that the vaccine is only good fully for 6 months? Now you have all these people for the last 2 months not fully protected. When can the US expect booster shots?

That's probably why the numbers are rising to be honest.

Yes it does concern me. Which is why a while back I replied to a thread about those vaccinated still wearing masks- that I still wear a mask indoors for various reasons- this one being one of them.

I guess that was a good move. And soon, I may start double masking, if the numbers look like I should. I am totally looking forward to a booster.

I think they are also rising as I’m sure more vaccinated people are testing where before I don’t think as many did (thinking they were unlikely to contract COVID-19 while vaccinated.

Or they are pushing up the numbers to try and scare the unvaccinated.

Not working as if unvaccinated hear that vaccinated are getting infected, why would they go for it?

I think we need to start looking at COVID as something that will always be around. Hopefully the rate of serious illness, hospitalizations and deaths will decrease with the vaccine even if it doesn't render us totally immune. I think that is the most important goal.

Well reports are saying those who are getting their first dose has risen 31% in the last week, so the fear mongering is working some.

There are a ton of mandates now in the past week from college kids to people who will lose their job if not vaccinated by certain upcoming dates, choice has been removed for many.

It has and now you will see more staff shortages with these places.
