Re: Is 5 weeks to early to announce to family?

We told our families right away-

But for us, it was unplanned, and timing was off(however still the greatest blessing we've ever received!)- so we needed their support immediately...

I was about 6-8 weeks along when I found out!

I'm 5 weeks also and I can't keep my mouth shut anymore. We are going to my Mom's today to tell her and then making the rounds to my Dad's and then DHs parents. I don't want to slip! We must be due date twins!

Another due date twin here Chat Icon I'm 5 weeks and telling my mom & stepdad today too. They're the ONLY ones we plan on telling until after 1st trimester (and it's killing me but DH is adamant!). Part of the reason we're even telling her so early is that they're planning a trip to Europe for 2 weeks at the end of Sept-early Oct and booking soon. Pretty sure mom won't go anywhere when she finds out Chat Icon

I think my due date will be around October 17th as far as I can tell. I can't hold it in anymore either. I'm thinking of telling our parents on Valentine's Day.

Re: Is 5 weeks to early to announce to family?

I told right away... I think it was just over 4 weeks! Only because I knew that whoever I told I was pg, would be the same people I would tell if something horrible happened. It meant a lot to me that my family know so I can get all they're prayers for a healthy baby too!!

I still haven't told work...I'll wait until 10 weeks or so for that.

By my last period. Two sites gave me a day difference, technically, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow.

Re: Is 5 weeks to early to announce to family?

We waited the first time around because at 6 weeks the Dr. advised us to wait because she didn't know if it was going to work out. We waited until after the 1st trimester and plan on doing the same this time around.Chat Icon

i am due 10/16!!!! there are SO many of us due around the same time!!! it's going to be nice having you all around for the next 9 months Chat Icon

i've told everyone already. i am not superstitious about this stuff. i figure that there's a better chance of sticking than of miscarriage, so i will take my chances. plus, if i do miscarry, i would want the support of my family and friends anyway. so, everyone knows Chat Icon

Re: Is 5 weeks to early to announce to family?

We told immediate family at almost 7 weeks and told them we didn't want to tell anyone else until after first trimester was over. They held out for a while. Well, after our first dr.'s appt and the sonogram pic it was impossible to keep them quiet. Now at just about 11 weeks MANY of my family members know. So just be careful...once you tell one, it is hard to keep it a secret sometimes, especially if you have a large immediate family like I do Chat Icon
