Honestly, I don't know why anyone needs to continue to have this SAME EXACT conversation over and over and over and over again. How many threads need to be started to talk about the SAME EXACT thing? This vaccine conversation is so damn redundant, how many different ways does one need to state their position on the matter and then beat it to death for 12 pages? Is there nothing else in life worth focusing attention and time on?
If you don't want yourself and/or your kids to be vaccinated then don't get vaccinated. End of story. What else needs to be said? Why does anyone need constant reassurance from strangers regarding their decision?
If you're all so secure in your decision to forgo the vaccine then why on earth do you need to constantly talk about it day in and day out? COVID, masks and vaccines seem to be consuming some people's lives. Just do you, keep it to yourself and move on with more productive things. Do some of you really and truly spend this much time and energy worrying about these things?
Because we are concerned they are going to FORCE it on our children. I am 100% secure in my decisions. I just don't want a decision being FORCED upon my child.
I'd love to just do me. That's all I want.
But NOTHING you or anyone is saying is NEW. You're all repeating yourselves over and over again, the only difference if the thread's name is changed. And here's the thing, if it gets mandated it's going to happen whether you or anyone else rails all day long against it on LIF.
I totally get your position and 100% support your decision. In fact, I have NOT vaccinated my almost 13 year old DD and don't plan to even though DH and I are vaccinated. So I very much see your point. I just feel like it's the SAME exact thread and the SAME exact conversation over and over and over on here. There is nothing new to say, everyone is repeating themselves and it won't change the course of any of this. Nor will it change anyone's mind.
If the issue of mandates is that important to someone then get out there and be an activist, fight for no mandates. Everyone whining on LIF is a pointless waste of time.
I just want to point out that the same thing was said over and over to you and a bunch of others when you started thread after thread complaining about Trump before and after he was first elected. Constant posts about how millions were going to die without healthcare. Over and over and over. And then constant posts for 4 years about how awful he was. Sometimes, when you are in a sh*tty situation, you just want to talk about it ad nauseum.
The difference being there were new topics to discuss regarding Trump over 4 years. In this case, you're all just saying the SAME thing constantly. We get it. You don't want the vaccine and you don't want your kids to have the vaccine. Repeating the same stance thread after thread won't change anything. Get out there and fight if the issue is so important.
Who is to say that we aren't getting out there to fight?
I've reached out to politicians, I have spoken to friends to alert them this could happen (many don't think it will), I did miss the protest earlier this week in front of our State Senator's office (but it wasn't really publicized).
This is causing me a great deal of stress and I feel like it's a different topic than the others. I'm trying to use all available avenues to get the best understanding I can as to why?
I think when it comes to situations that require action *most* people just sit back and complain rather than do anything useful. Not "all" people but most.
LIF is not the best avenue to get clarity on anything. For the most part, this is all speculation and personal opinion along with a healthy dose of fear. So far, there has been absolutely NO chatter whatsoever in my district regarding mandating the vaccine and I think *most* districts are likely the same. I understand your stress over it (and respect your position) but I think more likely than not, public schools will shy away from any mandates at this time.
U live in NJ right? For them to truly make it mandatory for everyone, they’d have to first get rid of religious exemptions. They already tried it before covid but were unsuccessful due to parents protesting BIG time. I’m sure that’s one of the reasons why u haven’t heard any chatter about covid vaccine mandates in schools in ur state.

I don't believe that my district itself will mandate.
My concerns lie with the state. The Governor mentioned she will try to find a way to mandate this for all school children and a bill has been introduced in the State Senate to mandate (and one has been or will be introduced in the State Assembly).
Dinowitz already did...

So if the above bill is passed, it seems like the mandate may not be effective until Spring at the earliest for ages 12-15 and possibly next Fall for kids under 12. The jab does not have full FDA approval for younger than 16 or even an EUA for under 12. Still some time to fight this.

Yes - I think it's good to post this on here and other places to make people aware.
I had dinner with my friend who's a nurse and is very pro-vaccine COVID vaccine last week but she doesn't want to give it to her kids. She was unaware the balls were already in motion to mandate it.

There’s absolutely still time. The more people that become aware of this matter, the better. I’ve said it before...the reason why we weren’t successful at stopping the 2019 bill from passing into law was because there wasn’t enough awareness, there was only a handful of us fighting that bill so of course these mother effers were able to pass this bill to law. The time to fight this is now because once a bill becomes law is almost impossible to overturn it. This is why talking about this issue whether it’s on a forum like this, on fb, with ur neighbor, with ur family member, etc, is imperative, no matter how “repetitive” or irrelevant it is for some people.
Just to add...the vaccine for 12 to 15 is the next to get approved which is around the corner, especially with the massive amount of pressure the FDA is receiving to approve it. They’re already working on trials for under 12 so the next stop for that bracket would be EUA, and after that FDA.

In all seriousness, I’m trying to make sense of it and I’m hoping someone in here has a reason
Good luck lol
There is nothing that anyone can say that will make it make sense to you and some of the others in this and similar posts because you don’t WANT it to make sense. The Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, HSS, the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatrician-in-Chief of le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, and other pediatric healthcare professionals have all spoken out about increases in pediatric cases and hospitalizations this week.
Virgin Mary could come down from the heavens and give you the same information and she would also be accused of padding the numbers, fear mongering and trying controlling the population.
Please stop posting the same thing over and over. Just move down south where everything will make sense to you.

Make it make sense
So here’s the deal : senator Vitale in NJ has already proposed a bill to make covid vaccine mandatory for kids. Nj still has a religious exemption but it could be removed after the next election. If it’s gone there is zero recourse for parents. NY lost its religious exemption. There is already legislation in the works to add the covid vaccine to mandated vaccines to enter school. Without the religious exemption there is NO opt out. These are major, pressing issues all parents should be aware of.

Yet people get annoyed that we post about this to raise awareness. Maybe they just want to silence us so shit like this quietly passes like all the other mandates. I'm sure there are people who are silently praying that all little kids are forced to take this vaccine.

Yes! Exactly...sorry silence is no longer an option. If you don't like the content then scroll on by just like so many of us did for 4 years while some of these people complained about Trump every.single.damn.day. How hard is that??
Also I just saw that apparently the LA Unified School District in CA just made it mandatory for kids over 12 to be vaccinated if they want to attend school in person...WTFFF

To the op- do you vaccinate your kids at all? If so you are vaccinating perfectly healthy kids. I haven’t looked but I’m sure the hospitalization rate if those illness might be even less than COVID but you still got those shots.
How is this really any difference

It is different because those vaccines have been tested over years and we know the long term side effects of those vaccines, plain and simple.
It is the same reason so many people were up in arms when they were trying to pass the mandate for the HPV vaccine, and that has been around a lot longer than the covid vaccine.

. Yes , this is such an important issue. We all need to be aware and ready to fight back. There is NO way mandates won’t be pushed given the potential profit for the pharmaceutical companies.

Yes. My kids are vaccinated on schedule for the current vaccines that have been around for many years and actually prevent getting the sickness.
This “vaccine” is completely different and does not benefit my children or anyone else. Until science proves they can’t transmit the virus to anyone else than I won’t even consider it. It’s a hard no for me.
This is a virus. There will always be new statins. Or as we now call them variants? It’s here to stay and the at risk should be vaccinated.

Re: Make it make sense
If you are against the vaccine it will never make sense to you (and that’s ok).
People can tell you what they believe factual reason why are and then people will give what they believe are factual reason why it’s not true.
You can only do your own research and believe what you think is correct.
You don’t want to be forced to do anything the solution is to go somewhere where you’re not. Not saying it’s an easy or practical choice but it’s a choice.
You want to fight the mandates great. Start calling politicians, go to Washington protest. Posting on social media does nothing but start arguments amongst people and get you no where
(And by you I don’t mean any particular poster just the general you)
I’m to the point that everyone should just stop caring about anyone else.
Get the vaccine and risk getting side effects
Don’t get the vaccine risk getting really sick and/or dying.
Im sick of hearing about vaccines masks etc. I’m over it all lol.

I'm going to play devils advocate here though. What if someone had the same response about the Texas Abortion Bill - You need an abortion, just go to a state where it's legal. It's not ideal, but it's an option. Except we all know it's not really an option for most people right? Most people can't afford to travel long distances to get an abortion. Especially young girls, teenagers for example. It's not as simple as saying pick up and move.

I did state it wasn’t an easy choice. I can though Tell you I will never move to Texas with that bill passed (not that I wanted to move there before all this but now I can tell you I will never ever live there )
I also said in the same post if you don’t agree then to do something about it protest in Washington or at Albany where it really matters call your politicians etc
The point being just posting on social media will do nothing if youre that passionate then you have to really do something about or don’t complain when it does happen.

Many of us are not only posting about it here though and writing letters, etc. But are we not allowed to post about it here?

I never said you couldn’t. Post away. Me personally I’m sick of seeing it but there’s no escaping it. ( And yes I know I can ignore post. )
My post was not meant for anyone to not post about it.
I answered the original question and then gave advice on what to do if they aren’t happy and just stating that just positing On social media will get you no where except getting in arguments with people. Which again anyone is free to do.
