Chronic stuffy / runny nose help
So my nose has been stuffy and/or runny for almost 2 months. The inside is so dry and scabs. I use saline. Doesn’t help. I also constantly have to clear my throat or cough from what I guess is a drip. My eyes also get itchy randomly. This is NOT Covid. Tested numerous times. I went to my doctor and she gave my Zyrtec and Flonase. Tried for 3 weeks and zero help. In fact, the Flonase gave me bad side effects. Then I got a shirt dose of a steroid and felt better. Now it’s back!! Anyway, my question is where should I go from here. I need relief. Allergist or ENT maybe? Any advice I’d appreciated.

Re: Chronic stuffy / runny nose help
I'd try an allergist first and see if it's some kind of allergy causing it- and then if not, move on to the ENT.
Have you tried a neti pot? Or, my DH swears by this thing- the Navage. It's pricey and it's a little freaky to use, but he has always had sinus issues and he loves this thing.

Are you allergic to the tissues you use maybe? I have a sensitivity to certain tissues. So I buy the chlorine free ones.

Re: Chronic stuffy / runny nose help
I suggest going to an allergist and first see what you're allergic to. My son is on prescription nasal spray he uses every morning. Especially during April and May when it's the worst he has the spray in the morning, Flonase at night and Xyzol at night. I know you said Flonase was bad, but try something else.
Also may want to switch your mattress cover to the one that protects from any allergins, dust mites, etc. Use a humidifier in your room and leave it on all the time with the door shut. Keep windows closed too in your home. Hopefully the allergist can pinpoint the problem.
You get a new pet? switch to any cleaning products or change to carpet?
Hopefully you feel better soon. Also lots of water is good to flush everything out. Good luck

Chronic stuffy / runny nose help
I definitely recommend seeing an allergist. I have really bad dust allergies and working with an allergist has helped. When I was at my stuffiest it usually turns out I need an antibiotic as well.

Re: Chronic stuffy / runny nose help
I also find that I wake up stuffy, congested and a sore throat when I sleep with the AC on- which is pretty much every night for the past 2 months. I feel like it dries out my sinuses badly

Try ENT and Allergies. They have several offices throughout the NYCT metro area. I go to the one in Garden City.
