Apple watch
Can someone explain the benefits of an apple watch vs say a fitbit?
So i do run and i'm old school. So i use an ipod still that i have an arm band for and i just headphones. I do not bring my phone with me when i run.
If i were to get an apple watch, could i put my music on it and listen to it while i run with airpods (I do have airpods but barely use them)? Or do i still need to carry my phone?
TIA!!!

If you want a watch for running, I’d suggest looking at a Garmin watch. You can load music onto it and use Bluetooth headphones. The GPS tracking on it is better than an Apple Watch. You can also send and receive calls and texts (you’d need your phone with you for calls and texts).

I think to play the music on your Apple watch without having your phone - you need to have a cellular plan.
I would recommend an Apple Watch over a Fitbit. I have the least expensive Apple Watch from 3 years ago and it’s still working great. My fitbits typically lasted a year - usually just over so they were out of warranty lol.

You can download playlists to the watch. I don't have a cellular plan and I can do it.

Great - I will have to try that. I don't use the full functionality but I love it.
My heart went into tachycardia a few weeks ago (not sure the reason but they say it's been common in 40-50 year old women in my town recently, I was the third in a week) and although I knew my heart was beating fast, it was good to have the watch to confirm it (and now to continue to monitor my heart rate going forward).

that is a valid point about the fitbit. This is my 2nd one in 2 years.
