Should I call aminal control? Update: She's safe now
There is this boxer running around the neighborhood. She has a collar but only a NYS license tag on and I don't want to hold her by the collar to get the info. I don't know who ownes the dog; only that she has gotten out a lot. She is jumping the fence into my backyard and I can't let my dogs out and I can't be outside with Molly because the dog won't leave me alone and I don't trust her. Aside from that, I'm afraid she's going to get hit by a car if she's left outside to run around.
What can I do????

Oh no! I have no idea what to say, other than try animal control, and if they're not the ones to help, they should be able to tell you who to call.
Good luck!

Re: Should I call aminal control?
next time you can call me LOL DH can't stand my habit of picking up dogs running around on the streets.
I just picked one up today. It was gigantic (barely fit in the front seat of my car) was drooling and smelled I called up the owners and they came and picked up the dog.

Re: Should I call aminal control?
I would call animal control - that is the first place the owners would look for their lost dog, and perhaps they will be able to find the owners... I have done this (once) in the past and the owners picked up the dog within an hour.

I feel so bad for her. She just wants to be around people. She keeps pacing the front of the house looking for me.

couldn't you leash her and tie her up in the backyard until someone gets there?

I don't know who she belongs too and I don't know her well enough to grab her collar and look for the license number. I put her in my backyard but she keeps climbing over the fence.

Animal control is with her now and looks like they are trying to find the owners. I hope they keep better care of her!

i try to show no fear. especially with the big ones! the one today was HUGE and i was a teeny scared to look at the collar, but he climbed into my car no problem so i thought it was okay
glad they're there with the dog now
