Napping & a few other questions
How often/how long does your baby nap during the day?
What time do you put your baby to bed?
While you baby is starting to fall asleep, does he/she startle him/herself and wake up?
Jared always startles himself, throws his hands in the air, wakes up and starts to cry.

Cassidy is older, so I don't know if her schedule would pertain to Jared, BUT...TRY THE MIRACLE BLANKET!!!!! Cassidy used to startle herself away all the time, and slap herself in the head. The miracle blanket worked wonders!!!!!!!

Re: Napping & a few other questions
right now Bryan is not napping at all during the day which is really annoying but he is sleeping thru the night. He is always moving his arms and legs and he too startles him self- I have found swaddling works but I thought that at this age they needed to move their arms around for motor skills- I read that somewhere and so I stopped swaddling- plus its really hot to swaddle.

Re: Napping & a few other questions
Mine is about 6 months now - he naps about 2-3 hours during the day. Sometimes 30min naps, sometimes hour naps. Depends on the day lately. He use to be more scheduled but since eating more solids and going to sleep earlier - he naps when he feels like it.
Kevin goes to bed about 9:30/10pm since about 4 months or so. He was going 10:30/11 when he was younger. I may start moving it to 8:30/9 soon because he is starting to get sleepier earlier lately. I like dthe late sleeping time because I don't get home from work until 7ish and DH 7:30ish - - usually so we like our time with him.
He startles himself all the time still. Just did it as I was typing this. But didn't cry - just a big jump.

Re: Napping & a few other questions
We used the book Becoming Baby wise.
Jack was on a 9pm wake at 3 for a bottle and a change then go back down till 9am... but I just needed to switch it up a bit because of having to take him to the gym with me and the class I love is at 8:30am
So right now he is getting his last bottle at 7:00 getting a change and into Pj's and by 7:30 he is lying in bed watching his aquarium and within minutes in asleep... then he gets up at 2:00am (I tried to follow the sleep wisperer book and if you wake them an hour earlier it resets their clock.. well I guess he still needs that bottle... because all it did was make him wake up at 2am instead of 3am) and then he goes back to bed till 6:30am get a change, bottle and clothes then we play in the Einstein Gym from 7am-8am then we leave for the gym at 8 (he naps there for an 1hour and 1/2) then it's every 4 hours for a bottle, then activity then 40 minute nap and in the early evening he takes and 1 hour and 1/2 nap around dinner time....
My only problem is that if my husband gets to call me he calls after 9pm so I stay up waiting because we rarely get to talk so I'm pretty wound up by the night and have trouble falling asleep...
Him napping during the day is a new thing since reading the book and following their routine for 3 days.
We used the Miracle Blanket on Jack because he would be good and then his arms would freak him out. Now I just swaddle his lower body with it leaving his legs out and that seems to work and he has gotten used to his arms ever since he mastred his thumb

Re: Napping & a few other questions
If we are home, Nate naps after almost every bottle from 30 min to 2 hours. When we are out most of the day, he tends to take 15 min cat naps here. He just hates being in his carseat. I'm trying to keep him up more during the day but he gets cranky and fussy somtimes.
I try to put him to bed between 9 and 10pm. He still wakes up around 2 or 3 for a feeding though. He does startle himself when we lay him down. I tried the miracle blanket but he ends up fighting and kicking for at least 15 min.
