My ferret had surgery yesterday

When he looked like he was starting to swell we rushed him to the vet because we were worried because we thought he was having the same symptoms as our mushy had.

The vet said with the age of the ferret (he's 8 and is considered old) it could be tumors or his spleen but wouldnt know unless he did surgery.

Yesterday was surgery. Turns out it was his spleen. His spleen was enlarged and twisted. So his spleen has been removed. The vet also found a tumor which looked like it was in the very very early stages of developing and removed it.

My vet is so wonderful. He actually takes the pets home with him so he can monitor them over night and ensure everything is ok. He told my DH that stinky is as active and carefree as if he was 2. You would never guess he's 8. He's strong and very active. Very good signs.

So we just have to watch him, make sure he's eating and continue to give him his stress pack until it's gone to help in his recovery.

The only thing that upsets me is he looks so thin and that ugly insision line going down by his tummy.

Poor baby... At least he is doing okay, though, he'll be better soon
