Re: MLSLI question

I'm not sure if you can tell exactly how long a house has been on the market but you can sort by newest listings first.

Re: MLSLI question

You can get an idea if you look at the MLS #. Right now, the numbers start with 190.... so the lower the number is, the longer it has been on the market for. Only a realtor has access to the information that shows the actual date a house was listed.

That's how I tell.....My friend bought a house that started with a 186 - they placed the offer back in August, so I use that as a point of reference as well.

BEWARE - a lot of times, people will re-list to get a newer MLS number. The house we backed out of just re-listed with a 190 number and a lower price tag! I have noticed a lot of housed have new numbers starting this month.

Yes that true too - sometimes if the price drops they also relist it with a newer number so that it comes up first in a search.

Re: MLSLI question

I started looking in Oct. and those numbers were 187/188. November was 188/189 and December was 189/190. January will be 190/191 soon.

Is there a way to tell how long the house has been on the market? I can't see where this is posted anywhere on mlsli.com Thanks!

If you see a house on mlsli that you're interested in figuring out when it was listed, then go to yahoo.com, click on real estate on the left side halfway down the page, this takes you I believe to Prudential listings. Put in the search critieria ( town, price range , etc) that for the house you're interested in...once you find the home, click on it....details are given including the "active date" which shows when the home was listed.

I pasted an example below.

Price: $350,000
Bedrooms: 4 Bathrooms: 2 Garage: 2
Square Ft: n/a Lot Size: n/a

Year Built: 1948 School District: Connetquot
MLS Number: 1908172
Active Date: Jan 04, 2007
Property Type: Single Family Area Location: n/a
Subdivision: n/a County: S
Status: For Sale Map Page: n/a

This is kind of why I was asking. I have been watching houses in the same town and one that has been on there forever is gone, I am just waiting for it to pop back up. Alot of houses that I had saved suddenly disappeared-in the last week. I find it hard to believe they all sold over Christmas break Chat Icon

They were not sold they expired. My father is a REA and I can see the listing as REA see them. MANY expired as of 1/1/07 so many will come back as relisted. Good Luck!Chat Icon

Alot of contracts might have ended at the end of the year. Ours did and we plan on listing it again in the up coming week. I would give it week and see what happpens.
