I hope she comes to dinner tonight and then you can stop feeling worried. It is hard to keep it from people! I'm 12 weeks and still haven't told everyone and its getting so hard!

My mom was the same.. she wasnt the emotional type, even on her death bed. When my sis told her 7 years ago about being pregnant with her first grandchild, she didnt have an emotion on her face and didnt say anything, but a few days later she showed up on my sis's front door crying and saying how happy she was.. I just think its hard for them, they grew up in a different time and things take a little while to seep in.
I hope it all works out for you and you get the special moment you want.. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Just tell everyone on Thanksgiving and if your mom complains you didn't tell her first, tell her you tried but she kept blowing you off.

That's almost where I am!!!!
As it turns out.....only my kid brother will be home & for sure after dinner he will retreat to his room for Video Game Night.........so hopefully he is oblivious to anything.............
And the maybe my Mom can stop being b i a t c h y to me once she knows!!!!
We told dhs family on my birthday. We asked everyone to come to lunch, and we had my birthday cake come to the table, it was baby bottle shaped and said the stork is coming on it. We invited both his parents, his brother and sister so everyone would find out together. The day of, his sister didnt show up, and his father of course never comes to anything, so we just kept on with our plans. We called his sister and told her, and called his father to ask if we could come over, he was busy, we called the next day to ask if he wanted to have dinner with us, he said no. So dh just told him by himself the next time he saw him.
My sil asked me a few weeks later why we didnt tell him nicely and together like we told everyone else, and we simply told her, we made the effort, and he had no desire to spend time with us, so we just told him when we got the chance.
