i don't know about merrick specifically, but i know that some stations on the babylon line have parking spots closer to the ticket office and the tracks that you will need a parking pass for, i think it's $3 for the year - but merrick has a big parking lot and there are plenty of spots that you wouldn't need a pass for (if that were an option).

Nope...no parking permit required.

Nope no parking needed.. just get there a little early if you do not want to park in freeport
