Re: Does it annoy you when people expect you to be available for last minute plans?
yes it does annoy me. Like you said, especially this time of the year you tend to get real busy. Plus, the fact that I like to have things planned out doesnt help. Im not much of a last minute kinda person.

Very annoying!!! Some people are inconsiderate and expect you to be free all the time. People have lives. And I'm glad things happened to work out for you, it would have sucked to miss this special occasion..have fun

Re: Does it annoy you when people expect you to be available for last minute plans?
I totally agree... my little sis/MOH wants me to wait until after her 21st birthday to have my bachelorette party, but it really cuts down the number of possible weekends I can do it.
It was like pulling teeth to have her e-mail my bridal party to find out if there is a date that is good for everyone... I told her if she didn't I'd have to do it myself, or we'd have to pick a different weekend.
How much time do you think is adequate notice? My b-party will likely be in June, and she sent the e-mail last week.

last minute plans do not typically bother me, but 2 weeks for a bachorlotte party during the spring is not enough notice!! only bc weekends fill quickly during the spring and summer, and i would want to make sure i could attend the party.

Re: Does it annoy you when people expect you to be available for last minute plans?
I'm a planner so yes, last minute plans or last minute changes to existing plans really bother me. Many times it's a general lack of respect for the other people involved that they expect them to just go along with whatever they change.
My family does this a lot. Come to think of it, so do my in-laws. In one particular instance last year, I decided to NOT change my own plans to suit them. I just didn't go because I had a schedule conflict.
When the inevitable sarcastic comments came about us not being there, I made it very clear that I would not put up with last-minute invites any longer and if they continued, they could expect me to be unavailable more often.
As far as your situation, it may have been something unavoidable. Trying to coordinate large groups of people is very hard, and perhaps they had a small window to work with? However, if they knew full well way before you did and just didn't tell you, I would be upset too.

it doesn't bother me - i don't usually have much going on but if it was a good friend's bachelorette party, and i hadn't heard anything, i would probably be the one asking questions, not waiting around for an invite.

I don't think 2 weeks is last minute. Its 2 weeks. To me, last minute is 2 days notice.
And no, it doesn't bother me. If I'm free, I'll go. If not, i won't.

It only annoys me if they're annoyed that I can't make it. If someone really wants me to attend, they should give ample notice.

ITA !
We have a group of friends that live in NJ....they constantly send invitations last minute ! 2 weeks is actually a LOT of notice for them....usually I'd hear from them today about a party for this weekend
I hate to miss things because we don't see them often but i usually have plans by the time they get around to mentioning things gggrrrr

It happens to me all the time and it definately gets on my nerves. It seems to be the same people who do it though.
