This is good for everyone else to read, but it makes me so freaked out about my DH-- especially the part about him kissing his kids goodbye, not knowing if he would ever see them again. This is something we all know, but hate to be reminded of. My DH tries to only tell me the funny stories, not the horrible ones. I know that your heart was in the right place, but I hate knowing what really goes on bc it just makes me worry more.

I have always said that I would NOT be able to marry a police officer. It takes a lot of courage.
I was so relieved that my dad didn't remain with NYPD and when my uncle finally retired from Suffolk.
I have to hand it to the women who deal with this every day

Oh this made me cry! I am the proud sister of a wonderful police officer and his main mission, lately - in his area, is arresting drunk drivers - God knows how many lives he has saved!
Proud of our Police!
