That is ridiculous- having specialists covering classes so you can go do duty! I bet it will turn into a logistical nightmare very quickly and the policy won't last. I can just imagine that will be lots of mix ups and coverage not showing, then people not reporting for duty....

check your contract---there's probably something in there regarding duties. or ask your union rep.

I would check your contract. There has to be something in there about duties. An AP can't just decide everyone gets one on a whim.

get your union rep to fight that- that's nuts and makes no sense!!!!
Specialists get duties because they have much more prep time/free time than a classroom teacher does!!!!
