honestly-- I don't like the look of gold and silver together and I don't think it's worth the trouble of having it dipped-- but I guess it wouldn't hurt to see how much it is.

You also don't need everything to match-- you can always look for a creamer and sugar bowl that is just pretty crystal--

I think it would be better if there were no gold rim, could the gold just be removed so that you had the matching pattern. I don't think that dipping it would give you the same effect since the plates are platinum and the dip is white gold so that might look off. Personally I would just get a nice creamer/sugar that compliments your set but does not match it exactly to add interest to your table setting.

If you can't match it with the platinum rim, I wouldn't get the gold. I would get something that is silver or something that coordinates instead. I have the set that matches my china (my china is pretty much the same as yours) and got a second crystal set from waterford that coordinates nicely.
