1 yr old starting with tantrums?
DS just turned one. It's like now he thinks he's a big boy and can do whatever he wants. He'll cry if I touch my laptop (not pick it up, just touch it) and don't give it to him, or he'll fuss if we go in his play area but he wants to crawl around the house, he thinks my husband's desk is the promised land and will be ****** if we don't let him back there. Is this too early to start happening? How to deal? Am i screwed by the time he is two?

Ugh! Coop's doing that, too? Sabrina has been getting annoyed when I tell her no, too.
My parents have a woodburning stove and I told her to come back to me instead of heading straight towards it. When I said " Sabrina, get back here" She turned around and walked back to me but CRIED and CRIED. She hates when I take things away from her too.
No advice, just commiserating...

DS is doing the same. If I take anything away from him he screams. If I try to stop him from doing something he pushes my hands out of the way. The other day I went to hold his hand and walk with him through the doctors office and he pushed my hand away. I don't know how to deal with it myself, but I assume it is normal.

My 16 month old is going through this too. My remedy...I tickle him! (hey, whatever works!)

Re: 1 yr old starting with tantrums?
hey just joining the club here!! Jillian gets in fits herself when we tell her no, or she wants something and we won't let her have it. I figure some things maybe we can do to childproof better, but others, well, I think we'll just have to ride it out.
But its so hard, because they just don't want to be consoled! This happened this morning when I was changing her poopy diaper - she got all squirmy, and somehow made it out the door without the both of us covered in mess - and was a wreck afterwards. Finally after a little bit she drank some milk when she calmed down. Ugh.
