10/2 Update**My Dad is FINALLY Home**
There really hasn't been much to update as my dad has just been kind of holding steady recovering but still in the hospital.
We got word today that he will go home in the morning.
He had his port put in today for chemo  and will start chemo and radiation in 2 weeks.
His girlfriend says he is getting depressed (which is understandable) so hopefully he will take the anti-depressant they are going to prescribe and talk with someone during all of this. He still has a long road ahead but I hopeful that the outcome is good.
Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. He still needs them as I don't think he really understands what the chemo will be like.

Please think some good thoughts for my dad. He's still stuck in the hospital and I think it's making him a bit crazy. He's on blood thinners and they can't get the level right so they won't let him go home yet. He's scheduled to start chemo in 10 days and I really know he wants some time at home to kind of regroup before he has to dive into that. It's all really taking it's toll on him mentally.

Yay! My dad is finally home after more than 3 weeks in the hospital (was supposed to be less than a week).
I talked with him for just a minute because it is still hard for him to talk after being intubated for so long. His girlfriend said his spirits are a lot better today which is great news. I was getting concerned because it sounded like he was getting more and more depressed each day.
I hope that a week or two at home can help him refresh to start chemo.
Apparently my dad has been in a lot of pain and having stomach spasm and come to find out that the nurses were letting his colostomy bag get too full. His girlfriend was all over them today and she said my dad felt so much better today. I still feel bad he has to go through that but considering he looks like he's going to get a new lease on life it's not the worst thing in the world.
There probably won't be much to update until chemo and radiation starts. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.
