100% cotton or not

Before it is taken the wrong way... I am VERY grateful for all I received at my showers.

NOW, one lady bought me TONS of cute little outfits, one piece PJ/play outfits but they are not 100% cotton. They are either 80% or 60% cotton and the rest (20%-40%) polyester.

I am SORT OF a maniac when it comes to fabric touching the skin. I am very partial to 100% cotton (even for myself).

Am I overthinking this? I have a very sensitive skin (runs in my family) and will assume the baby will too. So far, all I bought is all cotton, fragnance free baby products, detergent, etc..

Am I wrong to want to return them to exchange them?

No, you are not wrong. If you prefer 100% cotton then I say you should exchange the items for what you want.

ITA...I also do not like putting infants in fabrics that are not 100% natural.

I am the same way. Actually I remember from years ago when my older cousins had kids they were insistent on 100% cotton on babies delicate skin. Its ok if the trim on an outfit is a blend fabric but i only buy cotton for babies. this is my opinion. I have sensitive skin too

No, you're not wrong. Most of the stuff I got was 100% cotton or organic. You don't know how your baby will react to different materials. I mean, I'm sure the baby will be OK, but if you have a preference, then so be it! Chat Icon

You're not wrong at all. 90% of what we bought for our baby is 100% as well. Do what you are most comfortable with. Chat Icon

I agree with everyone - you have to go with what you are comfortable with. Return them and get the items that you want.

If you are not comfortable you should return it.

ITA, and I even went one step further & only got organic cotton for the towels & bath items, since that is when the baby's skin is most vulnerable.......Chat Icon

Def exchange if it will make you more comfortable.

I would return them or maybe keep only 1 or 2. I have sensitive skin and I will assume that my baby will also.

Re: 100% cotton or not

my advice? Its your baby, do what makes you happy. Who cares what others think. If you prefer 100% cotton...return and get what you need/want....

Re: 100% cotton or not

Thanks ladies! I think I will feel better if I return them. I know it may sound vain for some people.
