11 Days later......... :(
So on the 18th I had a Beta due to my three recurrant miscarriages. It came back a 46.1, on the lowside but considering I only O'd around the 7th not bad at all and my progestrone was highl. My lovely insurance company pulled my referral from that nice civililian OB and then sent me to the base. The base Ob calls this morning and does a repeat on the 28th and it's a 46.1
A nurse called me back and just told me that with nothing else and I asked how that can't be good and that I need to know if I should be expecting M/c # 4 since March and she had no answer for me but that she would foward my results to another person.
I am totally at a loss. I know I shouldn't be complaining because I am very lucky to have one son even though a had a few M/c prior to him and now these especially since I can obviously get pregnant but they never stick.
The civilian doc recently sent me for the reccurant fetal loss panel to test for a bunch of problems but so far she hasn't been able to find a reason.
I'm so sad.
So in a nutshell a Beta that 11 or so give or take days later is exactly the same is bad news, right?
Because no one has the guts to tell me that over the phone at the base OB clinic.

Re: 11 Days later......... :(
Laurie,
I'm sorry to say but I think you have some type of immune or thyroid disorder. If you want another child I would talk seriously to your husband about going outside your network and having extensive testing done. I have a list of the tests you should ask for complements of Redstar. I, as you kno, was diagnosed with the MTHFR gene. I am homozygous. From what I understand you can have a normal pregnancy with this but you have an 8 times higher chance of MC. Your son is absolutely beautiful. But again, if you are seeking another child this can not be good for you to have all of these m/c. Good luck. Please fM me if you need anything.
Here are some websites where you can read about this
http://www.howtomakeafamily.com/experts/lewis/recur_mc.htm (Dr. Randine Lewis, eastern medicine and recurrent miscarriage) http://www.conceivingconcepts.com/learning/articles/progesterone.html (info on different progesterone supplementations) http://www.infertilitycentral.com/fertility/luteal-phase-defect-as-a-cause-of-infertility,2.html (luteal phase defect) http://www.millenova.com/tests/panels.asp (this is the lab SIRM uses for it's testing, there is a list of different tests on the home page, that may interest you ....luteal phase defect, implantation failure, and rpl) http://www.illinoisivf.com/recurrent-pregnancy-loss/pre-implantation.html (another chicago, site, most of the labs for intensive immune testing are located in Chicago and sometimes Calif). http://www.repromedix.com/forpatients/multiple_miscarriage.html (another well known lab) http://www.asklenore.com/miscarriage/rcindex.html (She mentions The Dr. Alan Beer Center that's the reproductive immunologist center that I will have a phone consult with next week, and she mentions SIRM) http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=35982&nfid=crss (exciting new treatment that is being studied, not available yet, but interesting) http://www.rialab.com/miscarriages_prevented.php (Dr. Matzner's site, excellent !, I gave this to you in one of the first emails but I am sending again) There is a panel that I highly recommend you have done, called the RPL panel (recurrent pregnancy loss panel). Any doctor can give you the RX for this panel. So if you have a good pcp, or ob/gyn who will do that for you, it would be a great help. There are treatments for all these issues. Protein C Protein S Antithrombin III Prothrombin Gene Mutation Factor V Leiden Homocyteine PTT Anticardiolipin antibodies anti phospolipid antibodies lupus anticoagulant Karotyping (you and your dh)---this confirms that you and your dh have the correct amount and placement of chromosomes fasting glucose/insulin Thyroid antibodies ANA Dna Fragmentation of sperm can cause miscarriages. SIRM can test for that.
ETA I realized I kind of diagnosed you in my first sentence don't want to sound like this. I just want to encourage you to get the proper medical care. Maybe you could look into a PT job with benefits? (UPS, Starbucks, etc)

I just want to offer hugs. I am also blessed with a DS but it does not make the pain of wanting and not being able to have any easier.

Re: 11 Days later......... :(
Im so sorry. I agree, you need serious testing. WAY too many M/C's to be unexplained.
I wish I had sopmething positive to say. It doesnt look like its a viable PG if the beta stayed the same.
I hope you will be ok

Re: 11 Days later......... :(
i'm so sorry.
pain and loss are terrible, regardless if you have a son or not, so don't feel like you "should" feel a certain way, you have a right to mourn your loss and be sad.
just hope it doesn't last too long.

Re: 11 Days later......... :(
I'm so sorry to hear this. Also, genetic testing isn't a bad idea, if you're going out of network anyway!
My chances of m/c are far greater because I have what's a called a balanced translocation in my chromosomes. Good luck to you.
