12 lb infant feeding question

I am writing to get a consensus as to how much my DD should be eating at 12 lbs. She's 6 weeks old and it getting about 5 3/4 oz every 4 hours. That's almost 35 oz a day and she now is getting hungry after 3 hours. Doctor says "giver her what she wants" I'm afraid she could eat 8oz at a time!!

Steven was about that weight, I think. I believe he was eating about 6 oz every 4 hours. then 8 oz before bed. He pretty much stuck to that schedule now and he is 6 months.
