12 month old won't sleep through night anymore
Hi everyone I just joined so this is my first posting. My son has always been a good sleeper and now for the past month or so he gets up after sleeping for a couple of hours hysterical crying and takes hours of rocking to go back to sleep. Every time I put him down he wakes back up. I just don't know why he wakes up, I'm sure others have experienced this...I just wonder is it phase that won't last long?

Re: 12 month old won't sleep through night anymore
Is he just awake and crying or like half asleep and hysterical? At that age my DD started having night terrors that would wake her up about 4hrs. into her sleeping. We use to pick her up to console but that made it worse so we learned to just give her time to settle herself and calm down as opposed to disrupting her sleep cycle any further. Worked like a charm.

Re: 12 month old won't sleep through night anymore
He is kinda half asleep and hysterical and I always go in there and pick him up lately he is so upset he doesn't even want to be held so I thought maybe it could be nightmares or something, but was hoping it was teething he had a tooth that cut through recently and this is still happening. So I am not sure if maybe another one is coming? I have been trying to let him cry for a couple of minutes and then picking him up and rocking him which does calm him down but every time I leave the room he wakes back up.
