Re: 12 week ultrascreen results.....
I know MANY people who have gotten false positives on their ultra screen results.

Re: 12 week ultrascreen results.....
I had not so great results either, had an amnio and everything is now fine(I sent you FM). False positives are actually not common, but false positive refers to a mistake by the test. What is extremely common is that you will be on the "better" end of your statistic. Like if your chances came out to even just 1 in 20, there is still a 20 to 1 chance that your baby is fine, or it is still exrtremely much more likely that your baby is OK. Obviously if your numbers were higher than that, even better. As my brother, husband and pretty much all the men who knew of my results(they are so much more logical) said to me "I would take that bet for the lottery any day". Of course, the more heart thinking women were so sad for me and said they would do the amnio.

They told me they were concerned about my second DD. She came out perfectly fine! Don't worry.

Re: 12 week ultrascreen results.....
the ultrascreen tests for many things, what specifically was bad? Hard to answer this.
Our neck fold came back measuring high. We had a fetal echo cardiogram...
Our son is almost 3 mnths old and 100% fine.

The tests are not always accurate and false positives are common. Everything may be perfectly fine!

Re: 12 week ultrascreen results.....
thanks for the hugs! the baby actually looked good (neck measurement was fine), but one of the blood markers came back in the less then 1 percentile----could be an indicator for chromosomal problems or there may be no chromosomal problem and the reason the number is so low is my placenta may not be as great and I am at higher risk for miscarriage/preterm labor/preeclampsia/intrauterine growth restriction.......not to say any of this will happen, but its pretty scary to hear.

Re: 12 week ultrascreen results.....
I agree that even though everything could be fine it is still scary...but I think it is always better to be prepared and educated on the condition as opposed to not knowing and being unprepared...lots of for you...I hope everything works out.
