13 Reasons Why
Has anybody watched the show 13 Reasons Why in Netflix? Amazing!!!!!! And now I’m forever in love with the song The Night We Met by Lord Huron

13 Reasons Why
Yeah, I watched it when it first came out. It was pretty eye opening to what teenagers have to deal with that weren’t around when I was that age. I know a lot of people had issues with it (seemed to glorify suicide) but I think that if you watched it with your kids there were good messages that you could use as talking points.

Def agree with the good points this show has to offer. Just like u, I don’t recall being like that in high school which makes me think that there’s A LOT of things that we, as students, are not even aware of or at least really know the impact and effect that things we say or the way with act towards others have in them. Watching the show from the perspective of when I was a high school student and now that I’m a parent, it’s pretty scary and it makes u deeply think of what can go on in schools, with our kids. I gotta be honest, I kinda was surprised how graphic her death was but it doesn’t take away from how real it can be, and every little think that can take a teenager to act that way. A lot of ppl think that ppl that commit suicide are cowards but I actually think the opposite, it must take a lot of balls to take ur own life away and consciously knowing u’re the one ending ur life, I can’t even imagine how things can affect a person so deeply to totally numb them to any feelings and push u to end ur own life.

Yes, I watched it when it first came out. I made a playlist on Spotify and love the song The Night We Met. If you want I can give you the list of songs I added.
I found the music really interesting, and the show was made by people our age.
There is a season 2 coming out this year. I don’t know how, but there is.
Clay kind of annoyed me; I felt his acting wasn’t that great. I couldn’t watch the last scene. I had to walk away.

Oh and to add, one thing I found completely unrealistic was the use of cassette tapes. That would never happen. I also don’t think any teenager these days would listen to Ultravox.
I do think that teenagers have a lot to deal with these days. I don’t remember dealing with a lot of that, but then again I can see it from an outside perpective now.

I watched the show. It held my attention, but I thought it was almost completely unrealistic. I found myself rolling my eyes a lot.
I'd watch a second season though.

I think it was excellent, had alot of trouble watching it, especially the last episode. I think it opens eyes to alot of people. about 6 months after I had a funeral for a 13 year old boy to suicide. heartbreaking.

I mean the parents now have the tapes, so that’s good for them. Will it be about them reliving what they could have done? I sometimes think a series just should stay at one season.

From what I’m reading, 2nd season is supposed to focus on the main kids including their past and what made them be the way they are and do the things they did. Also it supposed to focus on Hannah’s parents, including Clay, and how they continue to struggle with Hannah’s death. We’ll still see Hannah but not as much.
Not many cliffhangers, the ones I remember are the trial and how it’s gonna end considering that now everyone knows about the tapes and they’re now in possession of her parents. Also if u guys remember, Alex (the blonde kid that looks a bit like Eminem -good call First Mate!-) tried to commit suicide. I just figured he actually died but watching the explanation of the show by the ppl that made it, the principal said he’s in intensive care in the hospital, which makes me think we’ll find out if he recuparates and know all the details that drove him to shot himself, although all things point that the reason is the death of Hannah and how he feels guilty for it but I believe there’s much more going on there. Also we have to see what ends up happening to Bryce, considering he raped Jessica and Hannah. Also what’s gonna happen to Brandon, the last thing we saw him doing was leaving town (?) especially since Jessica told him she didn’t wanna see him ever again and he doesn’t want nothing to do with Bryce.
I haven’t read the books but does anyone know how the books end? With Hannah’s death?

Heartbreaking indeed!!! As a parent, I can’t even wrap my head around it and don’t even begin to imagine how his parents feel!!!

I just Shazammed what songs I liked at certain points. But that is definitely something to add to the playlist. I’ll have to check out that song. Thx for the suggestion!
