14 weeks with a yeast infection-help if you can!!!
sorry i know this has been posted in the past. called my dr. this morning and was as usual "blown off" (thinking about really swtiching now) nurse told me nothing they can give but to eat yogurt and take the acidopholus pills and wait. my question is (at 4 am in the morning) can a yeast infection really run its course without over the counter treatement and not get worse? i am thinking of doing the 7 day monistat treatment b/c i don't think i can wait it's seems to have gotten worse. if it's not better by christmas then i have to do something. most websites i read say only the 7 day treatments are recommended. anyone else experience this or have suggestions? i certainly don't want to harm the baby or anything. and since it's the holidays and the weekend i won't get any help from my dr. now! thank you in advance for any info/advice you can offer!

The accidophillus pills really work. You need to keep them in the fridge though. I had a horrible YI early on. I tried diflucan and monistat and neither were working. This was prior to finding out I was pregnant too, so had I have known, I wouldn't have used either. I took the pills and it cleared up within a couple of days. I took one in the morning and one at night.

Also drink apple cider vinegar - about 2 T mixed with 1/2 cup water, 4 times/day. You can take a bath and put the vinegar in the water too.
I had a yeast infection just before doing my IVF transfer and this got rid of it in less than 2 days.
Good luck, that sucks.
Oh you can also take garlic pills.

the pills work and you can eat yogurt (which is good for you being PG anyways!)

Re: 14 weeks with a yeast infection-help if you can!!!
I do think many of the YIs can run its course. I had to take Monistat-7 for mine, which wasn't going away on its own. I had it at about 24 weeks into my pregnancy. I called my doctor's office in a panic about it, and was told the OTC Monistat was ok to use.
I'd try the acidophilis pills first and if those don't work you may want to try the Monistat or something similar. Check with your doctor's office just to make sure.

I have a mild one, and I was in the ER yesterday and they said, it will run its course, my Dr reccomended not treating it with anything other then yogurt pills. And also drink Cranberry juice, it has the same effect as on a UTI...it's acidic quality kills some of the bacetria off.

I got a few YI while PG and I used a 3 day prescription which was the same as the 3 day Monistat. I've also used the 7 day Monistat.
