A new set of twins has arrived....EARLY! WE ARE HOME, FINALLY!! A couple of pics UPdated 9/11//07
My twins are here! They are as cute as can be but everyday is touch and go. We are playing the waiting game. My little man weighed in at 1.11lbs and my little princess weighed in at 1. 7lbs. They were 24wks 6days when they were born. Please keep them in your prayers. Thanks everyone.
5-20-07 THank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. My little ones are strong, we made it to 26wks. I am thrilled for their progress but know that it will be an uphill battle. I think they are taking it better than me. I am a loose cannon of tears at any given moment but I am trying to get over the crying hump. Thank goodness my husband, family and friends have been a wonderful support. Thanks again.
6-3-07 My little boy came off the ventilator in the middle of the night last night. So far, he is doing great on just the CPAP. Unfortunatetly, on Friday afternoon he had to have surgery on his PDA but he did wonderfully and recovered quick enough that they took him off the vents. My little girl is doing pretty good too. She is eating like a champ but her breathing still needs to improve so she can be pulled off the ventilator as well. Hopefully she will improve that daily and come off soon. I did get to actually hold her on Friday night and it was so exciting. It was a nice way to end my stressful day! On the other side of things my DH and I are holding up pretty well ourselves. It is very emotionally draining but we are hanging in. Thank you once again for your thoughts and prayers.
6/6/07 Today I got to hold my baby boy. He is so cute! I am sure I am a little partial to his cuteness but...what are ya going to do. He is still doing great on CPAP and his feeds are increasing. We are still anticipating my little girl to continue her great feeds and start to lower her oxegen requirements so she too can get off the vents. and onto CPAP. Please continue to pray for us. Thanks again.
6-7-07 Today was a great day! My baby girl came off the vents and is on CPAP. I also was able to do Kangaroo Care with her which is skin to skin holding. It was so great! My baby boy is still doing well on the CPAP. Thanks for letting me share.
6-18-07 We are all doing pretty well. We are still on CPAP, eating well via the feeding tube and receiving lots of TLC. We are able to hold them much more often now, which is good for them and us as well. Day 38 and ? more before we can take them home. Thanks for thinking of us and letting me udate!
7/10/07 Well, it is day #60 and we are still on CPAP with mediocre settings. The doctors tell us to be patient but I think our patience is running out. We really want to see them off of CPAP and breathing on their own. Aside from that, they are doing very well. My little man is 4.6lbs and my little peanut is 3.9lbs. They are getting so big and cute everyday, if we could just get them to come down really low on the CPAP settings, I think we would feel better. Sorry I have been slacking on the updates and thanks again for letting me share!
7/13/07 My little man has made it to the crib! Yesterday he was able to maintain his temperture with the isolette heat off and so they put him in a crib. He looks so cute and comfortable. Both of their settings on CPAP are coming down a little so we are keeping our fingers crossed they stay this way. That's it for now.
7/14/o7 Tonight they moved DD into my DS's room. I am so excited because they haven't been together since birth. WHen we left tonight around 10pm they were also getting ready to put DD into a crib like her brother. Hopefully she too will be able to keep her temperture up and stay in the crib. I am so excited! Now if only their poor little lungs were better!
7/16/07 Yesterday because both DS and DD are in the same room now (and both still in cribs) the nurses did a little photo shoot with us and them. It was so cute. They put them both on nasal cannula so they wouldn't have the CPAP covering their faces. We each held one and then we each got to hold them both. DS was wide awake for it but DD was sound asleep for the whole thing. I think she is still trying to believe she is an only child!
8-1-07 Both babies are doing great. They are both over 5lbs! This past Saturday they started to nipple, so I am excited about that. The doctor said yesterday that my little girl may come home in about 2wks. that could change but hopefully. They are both on CPAP still but she should be moving to nasal canulla soon. i will keep you posted. Thanks for thinking of us!
8/2/07 A milestone for my little man...He went to breast for the first time today. i am so excited. Tomorrow i try her!!!
8-15-07 Hey everyone! My two little angels are now both on nasal cannula and will be coming home on it. This means we will have a nurse for 12 of the 24hours a day. Thank goodness, peace of mind for part of the day! They are starting to take most of their feeds by bottle and once they do we will hopefully get them home. My little girl is now6.2lbs and my little man is about 6.9-6.10lbs. They are amazingly cute but I am partial!!!!
8/23/07 My little angels were supposed to come home today but we had to postpone it until Friday b/c the eye doctor couldn't look at them again until Friday morning. We were so close to having them come home on my birthday today. No complaints because they are doing Fantastic! We are patiently waiting the arrival our two angels, finally!!! 
8/24/07 Hey everyone just a quick post to say my babies are home and doing great!!
9/11/07 THank you to everyone for all your prayers. He are my two little angels. They are doing great!
